Soft base yet firm, important for me because I usually press a bit onto my mouse when gaming and the mouse tends to sink into the pad - not an issue with this one.
Quite a fast pad, I actually enjoyed it more than the Artisan Raiden or Hien and I feel it's quite a solid buy especially at this price.
