Why We Ask for Identity Verification
Some customers may receive an email from cs@atkgear.com with the subject line "Action Required: Verify Your ATK GEAR Order", requesting certain information to help us verify the legitimacy of the order.
We understand that this may raise questions or concerns, and we’re happy to explain the reason behind it.
Why did I receive this email?
Sometimes, Shopify’s payment system flags an order as a potential fraud risk. This does not mean there’s a problem with your payment, but rather that the system has detected something unusual, such as:
- Mismatched billing and shipping addresses
- Use of VPN or proxy services
- Suspicious or first-time payment behavior
- High-value or international orders
When this happens, Shopify does not recommend us to fulfill the order without further verification.
What we may ask from you:
To verify your order, we may ask you to:
- Confirm that you placed the order intentionally
- Provide a photo of your ID with your name visible
- If paid by card: a photo showing only the last 4 digits of your card
- If paid by PayPal: a screenshot showing your name, invoice ID, and transaction ID
If we do not receive your confirmation within 7 days, the order will be automatically canceled and refunded.
How to Avoid Verification Requests
To reduce the chances of your future orders being flagged:
- Use your own credit card or PayPal account
- Ensure billing and shipping addresses match
- Avoid placing orders while using VPNs or anonymous proxies
- Enter accurate and consistent personal information
